Tonight I raced Aeonian's Community Racing Festival event on 5 laps of the Makuri Islands Castle Crit route on Zwift. First race using Zwift Racing Score, made for a pretty mixed (tough!) field - FTP+5.

My first race in an event using the zwift racing score system.

I've enjoyed racing back down in D, I'm competitive at the front in that level, and it just feels about my level, enjoyable, fun. As I continue losing weight, I will slip back into C at some point, though I'm hoping that will be after this sequence of Zwift Racing League events has ended in the spring.

My Zwift Racing Score was around 209 before the event, which means that in a field ranked between 180 and 350, I should be expecting to probably be in the bottom quarter of the field.

Sure enough, I struggled to hold on to the front pack for the first couple of minutes, getting dropped on the first climb, I had no chance of getting back on.

I rode with Karafiat for a while, and the Klyve after catching on, though I could tell they had far more in their legs. I didn't try to race to the finish, just making sure I kept enough tarmac back to Holdon and Karafiat to hold 11th.

I was surprised that my Zwift Racing Score increased only to 212, I think the vELO increase on the ZwiftRacing app (last image) shows the level up in field and performance more accurately.
