Notes

September 2026

  1. I'm in Dingwall so figured that I'd join HighLife and can get in the pool every day, while being excited about seeing the Staggies at the weekend.

£30pm for as much swim and gym as you can fit in across 25 leisure centres in the Highlands is phenomenal value.

August 2026

  1. On route to Carrot Road where Burnley play Norwich City this afternoon.

A long journey and mixed start to the season means that there is plenty of room on the coach today - much needed as I have some work to do en route.

June 2026

  1. I created an extension of my indieBlog bundle for Pure Blog, to implement workout mapping, tracking and analytics on your own Pure Blog site.

Demonstration indieFit project is here: https://indiefit.prry.uk

Code is available from the repo here: https://codeberg.org/leeperry/indieFit

Watch out for config/secrets.php which should power the same mastodon/blusky/webmention functionality that I built in indieBlog, but with workout tracking and mapping. There are keys and secrets here to edit. Note that the workout emoji title structure is important for the analytics to work... if that bothers you!

  2. This update took a little time as the new Pure Blog menu broke how the sidebar menus worked on my custom content types. I could have left this alone, but really liked the focus mode - all is working again now!

  3. With media library and featured images, v3.3.0 of Pure Blog looks to be a big update - especially for non-technical users.

I'm going to wait till I get home at the weekend to test it locally, as featured images will interact with my first image approach, and I need to understand what will happen with other content types - but I can now use Pure Blog on a few sites I might not have done.

May 2026

  1. Installed Pure Blog 3.2.1 now I've found some interweb connection. The new admin layout does not seem to have broken anything - once I've looked at the construct, it might make sense for me to move my content types menus into the new sidebar.

  2. Rather than be sensible at renewal our fibre internet provider attempted to hike our bill by about 40%. So I'm pretty happy with our mobile internet replacement which is basically matching the download speed that my '1.1gbs' provider achieved.

  3. Couldn't resist a final addition before a crazy short week at work. When I post now my website will ping the wayback machine to notify it of the changes, and is very slowly pinging it's way through existing content.

  4. I've wanted my website to be the main source of truth for training data for some time. Here is a run, with OS mapping of the track, elevation and metrics timelines, and key stats, implemented on my site. I've still about 500 broken activities to fix, but I'm very happy with the output so far.

  5. Neat couple of changes behind the scenes in my Pure Blog admin.

I added a new training selector to my content menu, with the title meta preloaded ready for content.

Sounds dull, but that will save plenty of tab shuffling! But can you spot the next easter egg?

  6. A few final tweaks to my training log layout this morning, the last upgrade to that section before hopefully building gpx/fit file analysis - installed lightbox and removed some duplicated images. Blogroll and garden ahead of that though...

  7. I've restructured my training log into a yaml collection in Pure Blog, losing ~3,000 workout files should speed up my post save time somewhat! I've also customised my dashboard to create and filter yml collection posts aligned to how markdown posts work natively.

  8. My own site was a little more complex to migrate to Pure Blog 3.0 than my indieBlog project - but hopefully all is up and running, and slightly faster having optimised a couple of things.

  9. As my PureBlog build becomes more complex, I'm considering building an indieWeb demo site this (long) weekend with microformats, webmention i/o and fediverse direct post components ready to apply to a new project. Useful?
